Phillip Sajiwa is a Malawian spoken word poet who began as an exclusively performing artist with his first poem “Tony Redeemed” in 2012. Known for his captivating delivery, he draws most of his inspiration from personal experiences motivated by Christian themes.
His musical and poetic preferences predominantly revolved around hip-hop, shaped by influences from Michael Jackson, Eminem, Shai Linne, Lecrae, Propaganda, David Kalilani, Jeremiah Chikhwaza, Regenerate, and Liwu.
He worked with renowned producers Sonyezo Kandoje and Praise Umali on his debut spoken word studio album Under The Church Roof (2018). His conceptual versatility has been evident even on his subsequent EPs Inception (2020) and Shes Human (2024).
